From Pork to Islam

November 29th, 2008

It was around 10:00 a.m. Beijing time, nearly three hours till the Friday prayer, when the young man approached to the mosque.

Jang stood for sometime outside at the mosque’s doorstep hesitant to step in, especially with a “Muslims Only” sign in Chinese, English and Arabic attached to the gate .

He finally defeated a whiff of indecision and walked into the Muslim place of worship.

“Can we help you?” asked the mosque’s leading imam.

“I want to become a Muslim,” answered Jang.

The smiling imam welcomed him and accompanied him to the Islamic Society office, attached to the mosque.

They offered Jang three booklets on Islam to know more about the faith he wants to embrace.

To their surprise, the young man said he not only read the booklets but also many other books on the Muslim faith.

Jang engaged the imams in a discussion that proved to them he knew what he was about to do.

One imam walked him into Islam with the pronouncement of the Shahadah; testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His Messenger.

It All Started With Pork

Jang, who changed his name to Selim, sat down with IslamOnline.net after the ceremony to talk about his journey to Islam.

“It all started with pork,” he said with a smile.

Islam’s dietary habits, including the prohibition of pork, led a curious Jang to read about the Muslim faith.

“I perused medical journals and devoured books for an answer.”

Islam considers pigs unclean because they are omnivorous, not discerning between meat or vegetation in their natural dietary habits unlike cows and sheep for instance, which eat only plants.

Some scientists say eating pork can cause no less than seventy different types of diseases.

“I found the same conclusion in traditional Chinese medicine, which does not recommend eating pork and designated it as the most harmful and least healthy meat,” said Selim.

A jubilant Selim joined an extended family of more than 30 million Muslims in China, according to official data.

Islam came to China via Muslim businessman during the era of the Tang Dynasty 1300 years ago.

There have also been reports of companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) coming to China.

Malakat92 Second Batch T-Shirt Designs

November 27th, 2008

Version 2

Version 3

Version 4

Version 5 (latest)

I do like the back design of Version 2 but the front pattern is just like ZOMG. It’s over retardedly lame. Only if there is such word to describe its hideous looks lol. Nobody will ever wear such T-shirt. Even I’d think twice lol.

Version 3 seems to be the liking for most of the forum users. I guess because of its simplicity and straight forward design.

Version 4 is my favourite. It has my-created-human logo in front and a simple pattern at the back. The only problem is that it’s not suitable for girls with hijab because the front logo will be covered. Others are quite okay I guess.

P/S: Version 1 is missing in action  Owh yea, more updates soon!

Do visit our page Malakat92.

3 Taat Reunion

November 25th, 2008

Posers! Haha! Where is Mr. Naqib? I’m the cameraman la, cheh!

It has been such a week with boring updates in my blog. I was just being busy with homework and tuition that I felt so tired to even update my blog with my daily craps.

Venue : KFC, Aeon Bukit Tinggi
Time : 10.30 a.m (as supposed but delayed to almost 12.00 p.m)
Participation : 9 guys 10 girls

Not to forget, I went to my former class; 3 Taat gathering, it’s more like a reunion. (I always mistaken with my current class 4 Naim, everything seems jumbled up) Anyways, the reunion was great. At first everyone was talking about it, in fact I received more than 10 messages informing me about the gathering.

This reunion was planned by Izwan although his plan was a bit lame. The time and venue were just so wrong for me. We had to meet at Aeon Bukit Tinggi at 10.30 a.m. Omg. The first thing that shocked me was not the venue but the time. Why so early? Got free food ah? Lol!

I think I was the one who really argued a lot about the earlier plan, maybe the most deadly yet convincing one. Whenever my friends texted me I will just give them that sad emoticons saying I’m not coming because I’ll be having tuition exactly during that time. They might think I’m sort of a snobbish after not meeting for so long.

I couldn’t do anything since I’m not the head of the plan. I think I did complain to friends who were asking me whether I’m coming or not. So somehow, they suddenly changed the time at last minute. I was quite relieved for such sudden occasion to take place.

At the same time I felt quite nervous. It has been almost a year not meeting them, I might be very shy to think about myself being humiliated again. Pondering the fact I’d be the only person to be fetched by parents gave me a shiver in my spine. They will say Naqib anak manja! No!

Luckily everything turned out good. I came with my parents and they decided to go shopping while waiting for me. Good news I guess. I met most of my old besties. I was sort of missing them especially Anas with his laughter and humorous jokes. I just beh tahan and will laugh like crazy when he’s around.

We met up at KFC including with the girls. We sat separately for sure back to our own business. We really had fun together. I just got to know their new experiences in a new school and the number of GF they have lol. Gathering like this is always fun especially when I got the chance to meet my old friends.

After finished slaughtering all the chicken, they decided to watch movie. Me and another friend refused to coz we’re not really that interested with cinema. Lol. I’d prefer watching new pirated movies at home :D Saying goodbye was the hardest part. We will surely meet again, somehow, might take a long period for the next one; perhaps next year?

The girls, why everytime with the cake? Wait, whose birthday is that? Hehe!

The Vultures are Finding for Their Preys! Anas and Arif are grumbling for food!

I’m waiting for any volunteers to plan for the next meeting. I guess it’d be better if more students who are willing to sacrifice their time to participate such meaningful occasion. It’s like a chance of lifetime to meet all your old friends, so don’t waste it kay! Let’s rock KFC next year!

P/S: Sorry for the ugly updates and bugging speed of my blog :( Tmnut is really slow!

Destroy Ubuntu

November 25th, 2008

Destroy Ubuntu; download here

A nice and grungy Ubuntu wallpaper taken from deviantART. The wallpaper might look nice from a smaller scale but deflect when it gets bigger, especially viewing the wallpaper in its original size. :D

I think it’s because of the logo pattern being maximised exceeding its normal scale making it a bit blur. Anyways, the wallpaper is still great and seems perfect for any desktops with Ubuntu  It comes with multiple colours, ready to decorate your desktop with its aesthetic design.

Fayaballz V3

November 25th, 2008

This is the second theme Fayaballz V3 if you ever realize the difference I made for my blog. I know it’s kindda like so sudden update but I feel contented with the vast difference. I just get bored easily and the only thing that can help me is to customize new stuffs.

I still think it’s a big laggy and jumpy. Perhaps the auto plugins inside have made the theme a bit slow. The previous theme might look better with its bright and cheerful colours but this theme has its own beauty too.

I’ve been longing for a Mac based theme and simply editted this theme with my own taste and liking. I love the page buttons the most, they are sleek, smooth and beautiful. This theme reflects my personal liking with its grey glossy colour with a simple banner which I ripped from another NFR wallpaper lol :)

I might be using this theme for a quite period of time but it depends on my mood. Mainly because if I have enough time then I will simply browse around the net for a ripped off theme. Pretty simple fabricated theme though.

Plase comment whether the theme is great or simply lacklustre. I need feedbacks to improve my Photoshop skills. I don’t see any improvement with my design; simply because I hardly watch any new tutorial. Beg me for more stuffs and I will puke. :D

P/S: I think I starting to like the 12px Verdana font. I used 11px last time to make it cute but now it seems cuter! Haha!

Bitcomet 0.66 mod

November 25th, 2008

Look at the download speed, zomg!

Today’s entry is about a new torrent client which I just downloaded few days back but stopped using it (after porting to Ubuntu.) I was so surprised to see the download speed, as it could reach up to 93KB/s!

This kind of torrent optimization software is quite common, since we have those popular softwares like Xunlei, Deluge and uTorrent which are most commonly used by users nowadays. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

Personally I’ve never tried Deluge but I reckon the speed would probably be almost equal to what my Bitcomet 0.66 mod could do.

I’ve tried Xunlei, this software provides a demon speed for heaver download users but sadly you just can’t upload after downloading. Leeching without seeding is meaningless; really and I mean it. I hate leechers who don’t seed after downloading. See, I’m on the good side!

Before this I’d never trusted any torrent client optimization especially those with certain sophisticated and confusing processes. But this client is totally a different story. The installation is pretty simple and everything should work like a charm.

Just unzip and copy paste the folder in your program file, click on the Bitcoment icon (it looks a bit different that the usual one) and you’re done.

Overall, everything seems fine. Even it doesn’t kill my browsing speed which did happen whenever I used my previous torrent client; uTorrent.

I’m hoping the speed would remain high consistently as I just can’t tolerate anymore with my temptation to play Need For Speed Undercover! (Have a look on the screenshot)

Need For Speed Undercover Trailer

Thanks to Sabri for the great share, and you better make sure the crack is working. If not.. You should know what will happen if it doesn’t work. My anger is hard to be compensated, you know me.

Allah Will Protect Me

November 24th, 2008

Once Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was taking rest under a tree when he was returning from an expedition and hung his sword from the tree.

A Non-Muslim person came quietly, took hold of the sword and, addressing the Prophet said to him: “O Muhammad! now who will save you from my hand?”

The Prophet heard it, rose up from his seat and said: “Allah will save me.” Hearing the name of Allah, he was overawed and the sword slipped from his hand.

The Prophet rose up from his place, took the sword into his hand and questioned him: “Now who will save you from my hand?”

He felt sorry and begged apology. The Prophet forgave him. He was so impressed by this kindness that he embraced Islam.

He then went to his tribesmen and expressed that he never found a man better than Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Source: “The Miracles of the Prophet” by Shaikh Ahmed S. Dehalvi; also related in Bukhari and other sources with slight variations.

Related to the protection of the Prophet Muhammad, Allah has mentioned in the Quran

“O Apostle! proclaim the message which has been sent to you from your Lord. If you do not do it, you would not have fulfilled and proclaimed this mission. And Allah will defend you against men who mean mischief. For Allah guides not those who reject faith.” (Al Quran 5:67).

Enabling Genie Effectt in Ubuntu

November 24th, 2008

If I’m not mistaken the original Genie Effect in Ubuntu has been removed due to certain regulations made by Apple. As far as Ubuntu is concerned, nothing is impossible. I’ve found an easy way to enable back Genie Effect in our CCSM animation and the whole plrocess is pretty simple though.

1. Use Hex editor to open “/usr/lib/compiz/libanimation.so”

2. Find “magic_lamp_max_waves”, look for following “<min>3</min>”, change “3″ to “0″

3. Save, Close

4. Use Text Editor to open “/usr/share/compiz/animation.xml”

5. Find “magic_lamp_max_waves”, look for following “<min>3</min>”, change “3″ to “0″

6. Save, Close

7. Restart GDM if the 3D desktop is currently running.

8. Set Minimization effect to “Magic Lamp”, change Max Waves to “0″

P/S: To become root, you must type those following lines in Terminal

sudo nautilus for the program file

sudo ghex2 for the Hex Editor

sudo gedit for the Text Editor

Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex

November 21st, 2008

I’ve successfully updated to Intrepid Ibex. Thanks to Dirn and Syahid Zul for their guidance. I’d deleted my previous Ubuntu Hardy Heron.

Everything works like a charm. I wasn’t really sure the whole process would be successful but once I saw the GRUB was working, it gave me back my confidence :)

This is my current desktop. I’m looking forward to installing Kiba Dock. Perhaps bro Dirn would guide me for that. :) Unlike AWN, Kiba Dock installation is much more complex.
